about

While this is technically my fourth album, it marked a spiritual crossroads in my music: the crossroads between 'Finn's childhood music' and 'Finn's real music'. Looking back, making that call at age 16 is hilarious and presumptious - the very mark of youth. But it seemed very important at the time, because that was when I switched from clicks and dots in Garageband on my Dad's spare computer and graduated to using Mixcraft on my own computer. I also started dabbling with doing live acoustic instruments.

This makes for a distinct change in style from the three purely electronic albums that precede this one, and it's for the better, I think. I started to get some genuinely good musical ideas (I still play Suddenly on the piano sometimes) around this age, even if I couldn't execute them exactly how I wanted. This was also the time when I came up with what might be my best idea ever, Geh Mach. It's seen several variations but this is where it began.

As a fun fact: you'll notice that all the albums following this are titled Album _______. They go up in numbers in different languages (deux = french, dritte = german, etc.), and I did this so in iTunes, where I listen to most of my music, my albums would show up chronologically (since they are named alphabetically) from top to bottom.

There are some fun gems on this album, and I hope you enjoy!
